Has anyone actually implemented this system in a completely English
environment?  i.e. is it to a point where it can be done for
semi-production use at a one or two attorney location where one of the
attorneys is a former IT consultant managing the implementation? :-)

Full english ( probably with some syntax mystake :O)

Actual version is fully available with sources.
(released under gpl license)

It manages only basic data, document creation
available next week.

.TRANSLATION STATUS

The internal libraries are now completly
translated to english, so any developer can
access java sourcecode without having to
translate the program.

Code translation is not finished however,
'cause there are 600k of italian specific
application sourcecode not translated. This
part still needs to be translated to allow
full access to the sourcecode to everyone.



I'm translating the user messages now, to
release an english version: it will be a
stable version, but probably with some 
translation mistakes.


There is anyone on the mailing list, interested
in checking the english version for translation
mistakes and/or interested to join the program
to follow the english release?



.SSL CONNECTIONS on client server application

the main application of elawoffice, is a 
client server java application, enabled to
work even on internet, applying SSL [openssl]
to MySql, and forcing users to use only SSL,
access to MySql.
This feature [SSL] is available on Linux/Mac
platform, not Netware/Windows platform.

I've spoken with Novell and they told me they
are working to port YaSSL to Netware to add
SSL support for mysql.

Windows support of SSL is available only for
single firms, interested in rebuilding mysql
on win32 [there is no official release, 'cause
of licensing problems].



.WEB APPLICATION

I'm full exporting the application to 
jsp/servlet code/environment, to allow
extranet and intranet use of the program.
The client/server and the web application
work on the same MySql database structure
and are fully compatible. The user 
administration will not ported to the web
application, at least until the next year:
actually it's not a feature but a risk 
for small Law Firms, that tries to share
informations with their customers.

Extranet connections need to use SSL encription,
to prevent hacking problems[it works even
on a VPN].

server CVS where's published the code is changed

The code will be placed under beta1 directory.

The beta will start for italian version, this means,
i'm going to translate everything actually non 
translated, to english

Thanks for taking on this project. I am looking for a law office billing 
software that runs on Linux. So far this is the only one I can find. Is 
there a rough idea when it will be ready for use in English?

Rhe program now works only with JVM 1.5:
there is an agenda preview, with drag
and drop features, but this features are
full working only using 1.5.0 java methods.

The agenda isn't actually translated, but
it's translation will start during the
weekend.

The agenda will be the basic part of eLawManager
with a full english program.

News sull'agenda

Lo sviluppo dell'agenda e' rimasto fermo per troppo tempo, perche' mi
sono dedicato alla parte della parcellazione, ad atti e lettere, e a
tutti i tool legati alla beta, all'upgrade del programma etc.

Ora per tentare di risolvere il problema, tentero' di integrare Lukkari
nel programma, per gestire l'agenda settimanale con Lukkari.

Lukkari e' un progetto per gestire l'agenda di uno studente ed i corsi
che deve seguire dal lunedi' al venerdi'. Ho contattato il suo developer
per informarlo della cosa, e per dirgli che tradurro' il software [che
in e' inglese e finlandese] in italiano, nella speranza di velocizzare
l'attivazione dell'agenda.

Questo progetto sempbra molto interessante, vista l'integrazione di
Lukkari con i telefoni che supportano Java MIDP-1.0 con display a colori
e non.

Se l'operazione avra' successo, pubblichero' notizie in merito settimana
prossima.

Se chiunque di voi ha informazioni in merito ad altri programmi gpl con
funzioni di scheduler settimanali, fatemi sapere.

Lukkari e' su freshmeat.net e c'e' qualche screen shot del programma
disponibile che da' un'idea di come funziona.

e' tutto in inglese al momento.
