I am extremely excited that Sourceforge now makes this service available to all projects.

New features and bug fixes moving into TalkSoup

Over the last couple days I have added timestamps, /ignore support, and multiple bug fixes to TalkSoup. Feel free to check out the source code from subversion. The GNUstep release is quite stable but the OS X interfaces still need some tweaking due to limited availability of testing.

I must stress that I do -=not=- own a Mac and have no realistic way of keeping TalkSoup working and tested without the help of some other developer. If you'd be interested in working on TalkSoup (especially on the OS X side of things), I would heartily recommend that you e-mail me at aeruder at ksu.edu.

What is new since the last release of TalkSoup?
* Full OS X support
* Massively reorganized and cleaned up GNUstepOutput plugin
* Several new plugins and fixes to those that existed
* Much more configurable via the new preferences panel
* Enormous (extremely noticeable) increases in speed

and undoubtedly 100's of bug fixes and other problems that TalkSoup had when last released nearly two years ago.

If you find bugs or have additional feature requests, -please- submit them to the bugs database on http://www.sourceforge.net/projects/talksoup

Have fun, and feedback is encouraged and listened to! Special thanks go out to Aaron Glenn, Matt Rice, Rob Burns, Frederico Munoz, Dale Anderson, and the countless others that have provided constant feedback, use of TalkSoup, and/or other sources of help. Without you TalkSoup could have never happened. Thank you to all.

Screenshots added

Took some time to get some screenshots taken of TalkSoup running under OS X, GNUstep and GNUstep + Camaelon. With the help of Aaron Glenn I've also committed the first of the .nib files to make the OS X version happening. You'll need the netclasses subversion to get it going too, so don't forget that. Subversion instructions are at http://www.aeruder.net/subversion.php I'm really looking forward to Sourceforge having subversion support.

Last Move for TalkSoup

TalkSoup has reached its final resting place with its new host: Sourceforge!
